SBIR Grants are a highly competitive program created to encourage domestic small businesses to engage in Research and Development (R&D) with the potential for commercialization.

The Small Business Innovation Research grant, or the SBIR Grant, is a funding opportunity for small businesses to engage in research and development projects. It is a federal government-provided program that provides seed money to innovative companies. The program is divided into three different phases, each of which offers different levels of funding support. The SBIR grant aims to promote and foster new technological innovations.
